About Fishing in Costa Rica
OFFSHORE FISHING - Local offshore action includes some of the world's best sailfish and marlin fishing, along with tuna, dorado and wahoo.
IN-SHORE FISHING - If you choose inshore species, you will find plenty of roosterfish, snapper, grouper, spanish mackeral, jack, wahoo, cubera, rainbow and blue runners and cubera snapper.
Fishing Gear
At Costa Rica Dive charter boats are brand newand captained by some of Costa Rica's finest.
We ONLY USE CIRCLE HOOKS to ensure the safety and protection in the waters of Costa Rica Our slogan is "We Release For Tomorrow!"
Seasoned, English- speaking captains and crews and are outfitted exclusively by World Record Holder (Blue marlin) Tracy Melton of Melton International Tackle, with only the finest in Shimano and Penn International offshore and inshore gear, from 2 to 130 pound line class.
Both fly fisherman and scuba or free divers can be accommodated, provided that they bring their own personal gear.
Costa Rica Dive Fishing Charters
All charters include crew, fuel, lunches, sodas and bear, with an additional $50 charge per person for food, drinks and service, when applicable.
In addition to our full day charters (8-9 hours), Costa Rica Dive also offers a romantic "Sunset Cruise" aboard the luxurious custom built Mikelson 64 accommodating up to 25 people, for approximately 2.5 hours. This does not include appetizers or beverages but the Marriott would be happy to cater to the level that you request.

Marlin Fishing
Marlin are seen throughout the year, prodominantly between the months of Late January through mid September . Blue marlin are most common especially mixed throughout the running sailfish.
