25' Palm Beach
"Magalita" is our 25 ft. Palm Beach center console. Captained by Brandon Keene and mate Juan Carlos both bilingual and very experienced in the inshore and offshore fishing out of Bahia Herradura(Los Suenos Marina).
Brandon and Juan specialize in light tackle stand-up and fly-fishing from Billfish to Roosterfish. Both of the crew hold current IGFA world records for Roosterfish including biggest ever taken on fly.
La Magalita is powered by a 150 h.p. John Deere marine diesel engine. Guided by Furuno 1650 sounder and GPS plotter that picks up every fish beneath the boat and Icom VHF radio. The boat itself is also equipped withLees outriggers, live bait well and tuna tubes. We use the finest Shimano and Penn conventional reels and rods along with Abel fly reels and Sage fly rods.
Offshore fishing consists primarily for the abundant Pacific Sailfish,( which average 90 pounds) Blue, Black, and Striped Marlin, Yellowfin Tuna, Dorado, and Wahoo. All these species except for Black and Striped Marlin are here year round. The Blacks and Stripeys come in around May and hang around through November, all other species mentioned are prolific off Bahia Herradura twelve months out of the year.
Inshore fishing for Roosterfish, Jack crevalles, Bluefin and Bigeye Trevallies, Amberjacks, Snappers of about a dozen different species including big Cuberas, Mullet and Yellow-tails. We also catch inshore smaller Dorados, Skipjack Tuna, Bonito Mackeral and Sierra Mackeral. Most of these species are great eating for your dinner!
We also do trips to famous Isla Tortuga. A beautiful island across the Gulf of Nicoya with a white sandy beach and plenty of Palm trees to relax under. Right around the corner of the island holds some great inshore fishing and snorkeling. We do not provide snorkeling gear
