The fastest way to get you in the water and diving! This course can be completed in less than one day and requires no previous dive experience. First, basic dive theory and dive skills sessions, then we will guide you on your first dive in Costa Rica’s tropical waters. With a PADI Professional, you will experience the wonders of diving to a maximum depth of 12 meters/ 40 ft. This Discover Scuba Diving course includes 2 dives, local transport, instructor, boat captain, all equipment, snacks & water. You can earn a credit to continue your dive education on the Open Water Course. Dive in!

2 Tank Local Dive in Manuel Antonio

The Manuel Antonio coastline with its 12 islands gives us the pick of numerous dive sites. We have an abundant marine life with schools of Snapper, Jacks and Barracuda, plus White Tip Reef Sharks, various rays & sea turtles. You will see volcanic rock formations, with many varieties of hard and soft corals. Other residents; Angel Fish, Moorish Idols, Parrot Fish, Puffer Fish, Octopus, Eels & Crustaceans. Visibility ranges between 25 and 65 feet.

2 Tank Dive in Ballena National Park

An hour & 30 minute boat ride to the south brings you to the Ballena National Marine Park which has the largest coral reef on the Pacific Coast of Central America. The reef forms a crescent with various small islands and is home to millions of reef fish. The Park is named after the Humpback Whales that migrate here each year from December to April to mate before returning to the cold waters to the north.

2 Tank Dive to Offshore Seamount

Deep diving at its best! This offshore seamount is only for the experienced deep diver or can be combined with a Deep Diver Specialty Course. A one hour boat ride from the coast brings you to an underwater plateau with varying bottom depths from 105 to 125 feet and awesome visibility. Stunning schools of pelagic fish, manta rays and sharks make this seldom dived marine paradise their home.

All dives are guided by a PADI professional who has extensive knowledge and experience at our dive sites so that you will see the most marine life and underwater formations. Trips include local transport, guide, boat captain, dive equipment, snacks & water.

Snorkel & Coastal Trips

Your personalized boat & snorkel trip of the Manuel Antonio National Park & Marine Reserve.

An exhilarating trip of the beautiful coast line; taking in views of the National Park beaches and its 12 islands. Our 24' Zodiac boat, “Tiburon 1”, has a top speed approaching 35 mph, and the ride is both exhilarating and safe. This performance allows us to visit a greater range of sites as well as the ability to maximize our time there. An interpretive guide will tell you the interesting history of the area and we can spot the giant Humpback Whale, Pan Tropical Dolphins, Rays, Sea Turtles and a wide variety of coastal birds including the Brown Boobies and Pelicans.

We snorkel at least 2 different sites, no experience is necessary to discover the natural beauty of Costa Rica’s underwater tropical paradise. We provide full equipment and the instruction that you require to get you in the water.

Trips to Isla del Caño!

Visit an exotic tropical paradise…

This is the most beautiful diving and snorkeling in Costa Rica, in the waters of Isla del Caño National Park, near Corcovado. Oceans Unlimited is the only local tour operator offering this unique trip to what has been described as a mini Cocos Island. Our 24' Zodiac boat, “Tiburon 1”, offers exhilarating and safe passage to this unspoiled paradise. Along the way we can spot Pan Tropical Dolphins, Rays and Sea Turtles. When we arrive, abundant resident sea life with hammerhead sharks, mantas, giant schools of pelagic fish, Barracuda, Trevelly Jacks and Pompano surround you. Visibility in this area often exceeds 80 feet.

We snorkel or dive at least 2 different sites, all accompanied by a guide. After checking out the local marine inhabitants we visit the island for lunch. Guests are then free to enjoy the unspoiled beach or participate in a short hike to see the famous stone spheres in the jungle. These are artifacts remnants of the pre-Colombian inhabitants of this island.

Trip leaves at 7am and returns at approximately 4pm. This trip includes local transfers, National Park fees, equipment, dive or snorkel guide, lunch, tropical fruits, cookies, juices, water, stunning views and an amazing snorkel and island adventure.
